Daily Shenanigans, 09/05/2014: Essays complete!
It's over, my two awful essays are finally done! What a long few days it has been! I know I have been doing little updates but I have really missed this blog and I hope to do some more reading over the next few days to catch up a bit on my May TBR list! Speaking of books, I came home to find a book waiting for me! I must have missed the email but I won another Goodreads Giveaway, 'The Bees' by Laline Paull. I am really excited that I won this one, after reading the synopsis it sounded so compelling! I can't wait to get into it, and the bright yellow cover gives me another Bookish Bingo entry! Yay! This post will be quickly followed by my bed, I stayed up very late doing work last night and didn't get much sleep. Followed by a ten hour day in Uni and I'm knackered! Tomorrow I'm off to London with Mat for a few days so I'm really excited to finally be able to relax again before my Birthday. So excited!

Daily Shenanigans, 08/05/2014: Misinformation.
Okay so it turns out I didn't communicate my intentions to you guys very well! When I said I was going on a brief hiatus, I did not mean from the blog completely! I meant that I was going on a bit of a reading/reviewing/challenge hiatus until all the work I need to do for Uni has died down. That being said, I won't be abandoning that completely, I'll just be slowing down. I hope that has made it clearer! I'll give a quick update, I'm mid essay. Today has been pretty work-filled, and a bit stressful. I have completed one essay but still have another to finish (I'm working on it now) as well as a folder to complete and a few bits and bobs here and there. I have to help tech a show tomorrow so I'm a bit short on time, it's looking like I'll be pulling a bit of an all-nighter tonight to get this stuff done so I can be back on track and ready to update for you guys! I really hope you all understand, I wish I had a T.A.R.D.I.S so that I had more time on my hands to get everything done but I have to prioritise!

Daily Shenanigans, 07/05/2014: A light at the end of the tunnel?
Okay, so I mentioned yesterday that I have a lot of work to do! That still sort of stands, but after today I am proud to announce I have a lot less to do! Thank goodness! I went into Uni this morning and just really concentrated on things that desperately needed doing, (as well as going to a tutorial to help me with my essay). I'm particularly proud of myself because thanks to a little help from a friend of mine, I got a lot of work done on my Multimedia programming! Hooray! I have an essay filled day on my hands tomorrow but then after that the only thing left to worry about is my Multimedia performance! The date has had to be changed again so that is now being performed on the 21st May (not too far away). I'm so excited but also really aware that I still have plenty to do so I'm still not far through reading 'Cuckoo Song'. No ARC review for that one I'm afraid!

Daily Shenanigans, 21/04/2014: A new Blog look!
You may well have noticed but I've changed the design of my blog! Hooray! It was something I've wanted to do for a while but I've put off for a long time because for one, I was terrified that it would take me a long time, and secondly, I'm pretty rubbish at these kinds of things. As it turns out, my sister and I did it together (she's a lot better than me at things like Photoshop) and I found that actually it only took half an hour at most. Most of my day was spent doing work and catching up on things that needed doing, but it was a fun little distraction to give myself a break! I really like this new design, it's certainly a lot more along the lines of what I originally wanted this blog to look like, so we'll see how long it takes me to come up with a new idea/get bored!
While doing work today, I did also find time to watch 'Thor: The Dark World' with my family (and catch the end of 'Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban' on TV). Two very good films that helped to cheer me up a bit I suppose. They were just what the Doctor ordered when all you have to look forward to is a day of being busy doing work. I'm off to Uni tomorrow for my first official day back after Easter, something which I have very mixed feelings about. On the one hand, I've got a lot to do and have not been able to get as much done as I'd hoped over Easter so I'm happy that I can be a bit productive. But a day sat at a Mac computer doing non-stop work does not sound ideal to me. Hopefully I won't get too bored, as I'll be there for a while.

Daily Shenanigans, 19/03/2014: Let the end of this week come quickly!
Well readers, I failed. I wanted to completely finish my coursework today, so that after my stressful day tomorrow (14 hours at Uni supporting the shows with lights and sound, ugh!) I could just relax and settle into my frankly well deserved Easter break. But no. Instead, I am going to have to spend the rest of Friday finishing off this horrible portfolio! I have been so focused on trying to get this finished today that I haven't even had time to worry about tomorrow's looming deadline! I really hope it goes well, I'm being assessed on it, but I would hate to get anything wrong for the shows that I'm Tech support for!
I didn't do an awful lot else today. The only thing blog-wise I managed to do was write tomorrow's 'Life Of A Blogger' post (as I won't be able to do it then) and read a few Top Ten Tuesday's/reply to some comments. That's another thing I'm looking forward to. Being able to work on my blog a lot more. I'm still really tired, I actually fell asleep a bit this afternoon, and woke up cursing because that was a whole half hour of essay writing wasted. Deary me! I really can't wait for Uni to just be over!

Daily Shenanigans, 17/03/2014: One down, one to go!
Well. It's over. I was up early and very nervous about today. Being in charge of a whole night's worth of shows is stressful stuff. But as it turned out, it all went ok. I was in at about 8 this morning, till roughly half 9 this evening, to give you all an idea.
I'm just really glad that I had such a good, hard working team, and in the end I was getting overly worried. I actually ended up enjoying it to an extent! I've got a really bad headache right now because I am so tired and my eating pattern went completely out of whack. This is going to end up being my shortest post yet but I only wanted to update you all on how it went.
Tomorrow: sleep, work and watching more shows. Roll on the rest of the week!
Oh! And Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Daily Shenanigans, 16/03/2014: Someone de-stress me?
I've had an emotional rollercoaster of a day today. It started off well, I had a lovely day at Mat's and it was nice to spend a whole day with him, which I haven't done in a while. At the same time though, I felt a bit emotional because I'm a bit frightened about tomorrow. It's show day. Now I know everything is going to go okay, yet I still feel like something is going to go terribly wrong. We played a lot of Pokémon and spent the day just trying to relax.
I left mid-afternoon and had dinner at my house before my Dad dropped me at the station to getto Uni for a Tech Slot tonight! Again, it wasn't stressful as such but I honestly felt so stressed that I was still a bit emotional. I will be so glad when this week is over. I think I'm going to throw a party. The Tech Slot ended pretty quickly and I hung around a bit to help with some tidying up before leaving to go to stay with my friends. I'm there now and they are doing everything in their power to cheer me up which I very much appreciate.
I have to get up quite early tomorrow so this is a short post. I did manage to get a lot of reading done today on the train to Canterbury. I was told off a lot by my boyfriend for switching between books so I'm focusing on 'The Snow Child' and am seeing if that speeds up progress a bit. Hopefully when I post tomorrow I'll be a lot happier.

Daily Shenanigans, 13/03/2014: Bees do not like getting tangled in hair.
Well I think it's fair to say that today was long. It didn't start off brilliantly either, a bee got stuck in my hair and I don't think I've ever freaked out quite as much as I did when that happened. It was right by my ear and wouldn't stop buzzing, and I think I would have cried if it had stayed there any longer than it did. I was in Uni mid-morning until early evening, programming lights for next Thursday's set of shows. The programming itself went pretty well, it was just a long process and filled most of my day, leaving me with not a huge amount to talk about. All I can say is that though it was tiring and stressful, I'm pretty pleased with how it went!
When I got home I spent the evening relaxing, I'll be honest. Yes I have work to do but I figured I need a bit of me time so that I can approach it fresh-faced tomorrow. So I got round to actually doing a bit of reading! I have made real progress with 'The Snow Child' which I am thoroughly enjoying. It is such a wonderful book, I won't reveal too many of my thoughts, but unless something goes drastically wrong I would expect a top notch review from me for this one! I've also been doing quite a bit of blog planning, so that I can still get posts up around my busy week that I've got coming! Seeing as I'll be staying at my friends again for a good majority of it, I feel it's better to try and plan ahead, and not leave it till last minute like last time.
As well as all that, I would just like to take the time to mention that I'm now at 27 followers on Bloglovin' all of a sudden! I'm literally so taken aback and grateful, this blog really means a lot to me and I'm glad that people appreciate the posts that I put up on here! I've been talking to Mat all evening and I will be seeing him tomorrow (also, day off Uni, yay!) so I'm really excited and anxious for time to go quickly! Before he arrives, the plan is to get a huge chunk of Portfolio done (or even finish it if I can) so I can check another stress off the list!

Daily Shenanigans, 11/03/2014: We're only on Tuesday?!
Goodness me, this last couple of days has gone so slowly and has been so non-stop that I feel like a whole week has gone by. Today at least I managed to get a lie-in, which everyone keeps telling me I needed, but still made me feel like I'd wasted half a day. Needless to say that put me in a bit of a bad mood. I spent a small amount of time starting to write my 'Top Ten Tuesday' post (which I didn't get done until late this evening) and planning out what needed to be done that afternoon. After that my day became a bit more filled.
I spent a couple of hours at a rehearsal for a show, followed by a couple more hours at another Tech Slot for one of the shows on my night. By the time that started I was ready to go home. My extra sleep just reminded me how tired I was! I can feel myself getting a bit stressed, but at the same time, I also feel pretty relaxed about things. It's an odd sensation to say the least. After finally getting out at 7 o clock in the evening, I was pretty glad to be heading home on the train towards food, warmth (the Tech box is freezing) and bed! I managed to finally start 'Daughter Of Smoke & Bone' too while on the train, so that was a bonus!
When I got home, I found out that my latest Goodreads giveaway win, 'The Ruby Slippers' by Keir Alexander, has arrived already! I can't believe it's here before 'Tithe' which still isn't here. This book though, honestly it looks so good and is definitely one I'm massively looking forward to reading. It's an uncorrected proof copy which is sort of exciting! Having had a good read of the blurb though, wow I can't wait! I'd best get through my other planned reads (and this month) first though, eh? It's been quite a day and I've got another busy one tomorrow, another Tech Slot to attend followed by work!

Daily Shenanigans, 08/03/2014: Creme Egg Brownies!
Well I think it's safe to say that I've been feeling the pressure today. I feel like I have so much to do and so little time to do it, even though when I map it out in my head, everything can still be done on time and I shouldn't be worrying as much as I am. I didn't read any of 'The Snow Child' last night or today because I ended up having no time to. It's staring at me now and begging to be read tomorrow but I simply can't until I've done everything that needs doing for Monday. So, my day. Firstly, last night's review of 'The Hotel Fakir' went up early this morning so I had a quick look over that. Then I joined Book Blogging and put the widget for it on my blog, though I'm not sure about the layout so that needs to be changed when I have time. Feel free to give my blog a like if you have an account too!
Also this morning, I spent a bit of quality time with my sister and we baked some Creme Egg Brownies! Delicious! I saw some when a friend of mine posted a picture of her making them and instantly wanted to try some. As it happened, Bev also wanted to and we made a pact to try out baking them ourselves this weekend! They were a success, and tasted great. I'm so glad I took the time out to help make some, I certainly needed them! I know Bev plans to write a post on the recipe etc. on her blog, Tutus and Ballet Shoes so keep checking that if you want to know more about that little venture!
Not long after that, Mat came round with terrible news. Phoebe the Fiat is not very well! He took her to get her tyres checked out because they look a little like they're balding. The tread depths and pressures all checked out okay, but one tyre has a nail embedded in it. Poor Phoebe! My Dad and I are taking it back to the place tomorrow to get it removed, it's a pretty simple job (though I'm ashamed to say I was a little emotionally distraught about it, stress does that to you) so it shouldn't take long. Hopefully it won't break up my day too much. Other than that, I did some more Uni work and sent it to my Multimedia Project artist, before chilling with Mat to play some more Pokémon (I've so nearly caught up with him)!
I've really felt the stress today, tomorrow (aside from sorting Phoebe out) I plan to just be ridiculously productive and make myself feel a bit better. I ended up being a bit grumpy and I really don't want that bad mood to stick around! I've written out my 'Weekly Wishlist' post and scheduled it so that will go up tomorrow as usual. I'm really excited about this week's picks!

Daily Shenanigans, 04/03/2014: Pancake Day!
Happy 'Shrove Tuesday' everyone! Yes, that's right, it was pancake day today and I've literally just tucked into one smothered in Nutella which made me very happy. I really needed it actually because I've not had an overly good day. Firstly, I woke up with a sore throat and it didn't go away for quite a while. When I tried to practice my song for the audition, it came out as a garbled mess, particularly the all important high notes. Needless to say, I didn't go for it. This meant I had all day to be productive, and I tried to be. I got my 'Top Ten Tuesday' post sorted (it was quite an easy one) and tried to get on with some Uni work. The problem was, all I could think of was this story idea that has been playing on my mind for a while. Today in particular, it chose to have a bout of fresh inspiration and left me unable to concentrate on anything else but trying to organise my ideas in my head. It was both great because I love the idea, and annoying because I wanted to get some stuff done.
Also, I found out today that the Tech sessions my partner and I had booked with our Directors have to be cancelled because of an electrical fault in the Studio. This is so frustrating because show week is less than a fortnight away and I'm starting to get extremely nervous about it to be honest. I just really want everything done in time. They have re-instated the lecture, so I still have to go in. No cheeky extra day off for me! Darn! The only couple of good things that happened today were that I went for a quick Supermarket trip with my sister and we decided that we would make some Creme Egg Brownies this weekend, for her blog challenge and my sanity (I really want to try them). Also I have found the mother of all wishlist items this evening. I would share it with you, but that would spoil the surprise for my 'Weekly Wishlist #3', so you'll have to wait! Reading wise, I got very little done again and although March has just begun I really feel like I'm falling behind. I want to finish 'Wolves' for Thursday, for some reason it's just taking me ages to get through this book.
I've got a headache coming, just to top off an already stressful day. The headache is probably being caused by that actually, so I think sleep is in order. I don't have to get up quite so early tomorrow, so my body will certainly appreciate that.

Daily Shenanigans, 07/02/2014: Demotivation, Disneyland and...dueling?
I've had a rather long and stressful day today readers. The rain gave us a bit of break but there was flooding around where my Uni is so I ended up taking the train (which was surprisingly on time). Upon arriving at Uni I attended my morning lecture and just found myself in the strangest of moods. I know I have already mentioned that I am desperate to become a writer, but honestly I just felt so demotivated and like I didn't want to be at Uni at all, and it's a feeling that I haven't really shaken all day. I did however have a happier time as the day went on. I met up with a couple of my friends from Uni and we had lunch at a nearby pub and a nice catch up. Turns out I'm not the only stressed student about! We talked a lot about Disneyland, Paris too (I have never actually been it may surprise you to know, it certainly surprised them)! It is on the Bucket List.
As well as that, I picked my boyfriend up from the station about mid-afternoon and spent the evening at his (I only got home about half an hour ago). Did we watch a movie? No. Did we go out for the evening? No. We did something so much better. This evening readers, I learnt how to play Yu-Gi-Oh! It's a card game that always intrigued me when I was younger (it was a huge fad at my primary school) but I never really understood it and didn't have any cards of my own to play with. It turns out that Mat (my boyfriend) is a huge fan of the game (how did I not know?) and has hidden away a whole stash of decks to play with. I can safely say I'm hooked. If I could spend the rest of my life playing this game, I would die happy. It is addictive beyond belief.
I'm going to get some sleep right now and call it a night, as I ended up unable to sleep for quite a while last night and I'm exhausted. Hopefully I'll wake up feeling refreshed and much happier.
