I've been pretty busy working a lot over the last week so I'm afraid my post this week may become a little repetitive! Still, I had a pretty nice one and it went quickly.
Monday 25th: Still recovering from my cold, I definitely felt a lot better than I had over the weekend so I felt really good about going back to work. I got to, on the train, do a bit more reading and it was here that I started getting into 'A Discovery Of Witches' a lot more. Work was really good, it was nice to see everyone again! All in all, it was a nice Bank Holiday. I did also see Mat briefly in the evening, which was nice after recovering from such a horrible cold!
Tuesday 26th: Needless to say, I had work again today and it was very busy. Before that, I wrote a majority of my Top Ten Tuesday post which was enjoyable. I had time to do a bit more reading too so despite work, I was able to get a fair amount done. In the evening, I came home to find that Bev had nominated me to do the Ice Bucket Challenge, which was extremely scary as I have a bit of a phobia of water, especially being splashed. Nevertheless, I decided would face my fears and do it the next day. Oh, and I was very sad because our beloved Fiat, Phoebe, was sold to her brand new owner and I am going to miss that car so much!
Wednesday 27th: Yet another day at work that included some reading time on the train. I was actually more pleased with my progress than I had been previously in the week. After work, I went straight home to get changed and pack for Mat's that evening. But first, I had to do my Ice Bucket Challenge! It wasn't a particularly enjoyable experience, the water was absolutely freezing and I feel like Bev got a bit too much happiness from throwing the bucket. I'm glad I did it though! After changing again and getting dry, Dad dropped me to Mat's house and we spent the evening doing a bit of packing and watching what I can only describe as the most harrowing episode of Game Of Thrones yet. Seriously, I cried. A lot.
Thursday 28th: Finally! A day off! As I had stayed at Mat's overnight, I spent the day at his and we namely watched more Game Of Thrones (finishing Season 3) and doing more packing in preparation for him moving into the new flat. We watched some TV too together, and I caught up on a lot of reading which I was extremely pleased about. It was nice to have a whole day off together and not worry about doing much, especially as it would be the last time before the big move. When I got home, Bev and I spent the evening playing on her fantastic new Charades app, which was a lot of fun!
Friday 29th: A much less exciting day at work again today. I got really close to finishing 'A Discovery Of Witches' but didn't quite manage it. Not a whole lot actually happened today other than work to be honest. I did play Charades with Bev again which was fun. Oh, and some Workmen came round to finish upgrading the downstairs radiators.
Saturday 30th: Guess where I was today? You guessed it! Working! It's Clarks' busiest week of the year (or peak week) as all the children are about to go back to school, meaning I have a lot of hours but no time on my hands outside of that. I had a really horrible day at work actually and it made me a bit grumpy. In the evening I got to watch The X Factor and Through The Keyhole, two shows that I've missed in my life! I also finished 'A Discovery Of Witches' and made a good start on 'If You Find Me'.
Sunday 31st: I got a lift to work from my very good friend and work colleague which was nice. This time, I had a much better day and the shift went really quickly, meaning I got to go home quicker. Before doing that, we quickly popped to Tesco and I saw Mat on his last day working at Park Farm before heading back to my house to watch Doctor Who and more of The X Factor. I also finished 'If You Find Me' and I was pretty pleased that the book only took me a day.

Last Week's Shenanigans: Catching a cold!
I was pretty productive, certainly for the first part, of this week! Unfortunately about halfway through I caught a horrendous cold which scuppered a lot of things. Still, all in all, not a bad week.
Monday 18th: Not a huge amount really happened today. I continued reading Ben Aaronovitch's 'Rivers Of London' and it was at this point that I really began to get into it. I read a lot on the train to and from Canterbury, as I had work today! Work was pretty interesting to begin with because I wrote down the wrong shift time so ended up being late. Oops! Still, it ended up being a pretty average day in the end with not a lot else going on.
Tuesday 19th: I had a very busy day (contrasting to the less interesting happenings of the day before) today. In the morning I wrote my Top Ten Tuesday post (I adore taking part in this meme every week, so much fun!) but spent the rest of the morning smartening up for my trip to London. I made my way to Charing Cross, and then Tottenham Court Road, to have a meeting with the Clarks Store Manager there. It was more of an informal chat really, and we agreed to a full-time contract with Mondays and Sundays off. It was such a weight off my mind to finally have my transfer sorted, I'm so glad! I also saw Mat in the evening and got to spend a little time with him. I did also complete 'Rivers Of London', as I had a lot of reading time on the train!
Wednesday 20th: Back to work again today! As it's the Back To School period, Clarks is ultra busy meaning that my shifts are going to increase. A lot. I found out that my references regarding the new Flat have all been received and so it's looking more and more real that I'll be moving to London incredibly soon. Eek! After my not as exciting shift at work, I went to stay at Mat's in the evening as I needed him to drop me off at work the next day. When I got to his he made me a cup of tea and I typed up a post ready for the next day. I made a very small start on 'Doll Bones' by Holly Black, my next read! Unfortunately it was here that I started feeling rough and poor Mat ended up not getting a lot of sleep and looking after me instead!
Thursday 21st: Having slept a total of two or so hours the night before, it stands to reason I woke up feeling pretty terrible. Nevertheless, I soldiered on and went into work feeling fairly dreadful. Luckily when I got there, I wasn't put on the Kids Department (it can get pretty hectic and my head was pounding) and in the end they let me go half an hour early because my health decreased as the day went on. Mum picked me up from the station and I spent the rest of my day trying (and failing) to catch up on sleep and finishing 'Doll Bones'.
Friday 22nd: Unfortunately I felt no better today. In fact, I felt a lot worse. Again, I hadn't slept all through the night so I literally spent the entire day feeling sorry for myself. Luckily I didn't have work that day so I could relax. At my perkier moments (i.e. when the medicine kicked in) I played cards and Monopoly with my sister and her friend, but I spent most of the time napping in my room and not doing a lot else. It completely ruined my reading schedule as I was far too ill to concentrate on a book.
Saturday 23rd: Now I was meant to be in work on Saturday, but I still felt pretty rough so I ended up calling in sick. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I never do that so I really felt pretty bad. Unfortunately, I still didn't get any reading done today! Mat came over in the evening for an hour or so to check up on me and we watched the new Doctor Who episode. My highlight of the day was probably watching Markiplier's Charity Livestream on Twitch (he's a gaming Youtuber for those who are interested). He raised a lot of money for the ALS Foundation with his friends Bob and Wade and I even got a retweet! It sent my Twitter mad and broke the internet for a bit, but it was totally worth it!
Sunday 24th: Today I felt so much better. I could have leapt for joy that I was finally feeling healthy again, and on a day off too so it meant I could fully recover! In terms of being productive, I truthfully wasn't all that much and probably should have read more than I ended up doing (I am so behind with this book and it is rather long). I vow to be better from now on! Instead, I watched Divergent with my Dad, borrowed from my sister. We both actually really enjoyed it and I would be interested to see where they go from there!

Daily Shenanigans, 10/06/2014: Playing catch-up!
Well folks, I had a whole day to myself today but I've been extremely busy! I tried to find time to finish my Guest Post but could only manage to write a bit more as I want it to be perfect and at the moment it isn't. I've had so much to do blog and reading-wise too! I posted my 'Top Ten Tuesday' list, wrote a review after I finished 'Stolen Songbird', caught up as best I could on my Bloglovin' feed, started 'Game Of Thrones' (my next read) and I've been trying to work on some Author interview questions too in preparation for a Blog Tour in July! Phew! I've never done an Author Interview before and the Perfectionist in me really wants to get this right so fingers crossed I work this out. I did have time to look at my stats today and I have to say guys that I'm shocked! While I haven't been watching, my page views per day seem to have doubled and at times tripled from the 50-80 that they used to be to a steady 100-150 at least. My highest in the last few days has been over 400 page views and I'm totally astounded! Thank you all so much for the sudden interest and support, it really makes me feel like I must be doing something right!
Tomorrow I have work in the afternoon till the evening, so I'll have a little less time on my hands. I will be working my socks off on catching up with my rather slow-starting June though, rest assured! I'm catching the train too, so yippee! Extra reading time!

Daily Shenanigans, 19/05/2014: The end is nigh!
I've had an epiphany. After this Friday, I will be free from Uni. No more deadlines, no more essays, no more assessments. I'll be able to do so much more of the stuff that I want to do (i.e. really going to town on turning this blog into the place I want it to be). I cannot even begin to describe how excited I am about that. But first, I have to get past the few days leading up to and including Friday. So I've changed a few plans and really worked hard to schedule exactly what I want to do for them so that I'm prepared and don't encounter any last minute panics or too much stressing out! In terms of blogging and reading, I'm not going away. I am posting my Top Ten Tuesday tomorrow and my next read will be 'The Three' by Sarah Lotz. Yes I know I said I would be reading 'A Red Tale' by Nicola Mar next but I really want to get through this one and post it before the release date which is this Thursday. I'm not going to pressure myself (my Uni work must come first) but I definitely won't be able to do it if I read 'A Red Tale' in between. That's next on the list though!
So what did I do today? Well I reviewed Terri Bruce's 'Thereafter' this morning, a book that I thoroughly enjoyed. I then went to work in the afternoon which was really busy! The sun shone brightly today and I was glad of the hot weather. It makes a change from cold and miserable. I went to Mat's this evening which was really nice. He's going back to London tomorrow after work, and I won't see him till Friday now, so we made the most of a few hours together. Tomorrow morning I'll be doing some work towards my Uni project, as well as reading some of the aforementioned book and posting. Then I'll be off to see a friend of mine who is again helping me with my work and I plan to really be productive!

Daily Shenanigans, 15/03/2014: 'The Grand Budapest Hotel'
It is quite late at night because I've just got back to Mat's house from the cinema so I won't spend too long on this one! I've had a pretty good day today, though it has gone quicker than I thought it would. Aside from blog planning and a bit of reading, it has mostly been filled with Uni work. I did watch 'Mad Max 2' with my Dad which broke it up a bit. But still the most interesting part was seeing Mat and spending the evening with him. After a nice, long afternoon at his house playing games, eating pasta and generally enjoying each other's company, the time came to head to the cinema.
The film itself was fantastic. 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' largely centres on telling the story of a young Lobby Boy and his adventures as he teams up with the hotel's eccentric concierge, Gustav, to hide a painting and figure out who killed its previous owner, a very...close...friend of Gustav's. It's a fantastic comedy, and made me laugh a lot (just what I needed right now). The score too I would like to mention was just wonderful! It suited the film in everyway, odd but charming. I definitely want it ASAP. The acting too was awesome. Special mention to Ralph Fiennes who was every bit the camp, endearing and hilarious host he was meant to portray. Tilde Swinton was hardly in the film and I almost didn't recognise her, the make-up effects they used to age her were very clever indeed!
Above all though I adored the scenery. The film was so vivid in it's imagery and I loved the bright and captivating colours they used, making some shots look painted. It was a beautiful effect and very impressive, highlighting the 'storytelling' vibe they were going for. What a wonderful, eclectic film. I definitely recommend it if you get a chance to see it! Tomorrow I'm round Mat's for most of the day, followed by a Tech slot at Uni in the evening, then I'm staying at a friends!
