The Best Weekend Of My Life - Finally!

So some of you might have read my 'Last Week' post and realised something was up due to the lack of detail on the end of the week - Sunday specifically! Well, Sunday marked the first of a very special two days for me, days that I will never forget for as long as I live.

Here is a very unsuspecting me on the very beginning of our adventure, which was revealed to me through a series of clues referencing places in London we have been too and enjoyed together. Many of those were the first places in London we went to together, and our first destination was London Zoo because of this reason! But we didn't just go there for any old reason, oh no!

Because my wonderful, amazing boyfriend, took me to feed the Giraffes!

This was definitely a real highlight of the weekend, as the giraffes are such an interesting animal and so cool to see up close! Especially as they feed in such a way that it ends up being a very personal, memorable experience. I enjoyed every second of my time doing this and it was so much fun!

After a continued journey around the rest of the zoo, followed by a walk around Regents Park to feed some squirrels and enjoy the hottest day of the year, Mat took me to the next surprise of the day.

He'd booked the very first hotel we'd ever stayed in, the Hilton Hotel in Islington! I was so overwhelmed with emotion and I cried. A lot. When we got up to the room there were chocolates and petals, and it was so nice! One of Mat's elves (as he called them) had even packed a suitcase for us and left it in the room before we got there!

We went out for dinner at Masala Zone later in the evening before heading back to the room for a lovely evening in ready for day two of adventures! I really didn't want the weekend to end at this point, it was so perfect!

On day two, after a lay in, we went downstairs for breakfast which was delicious and for me consisted of many courses because there was so much to choose from! After breakfast we packed up and headed to our next destination, a picnic in Holland Park!

It was a long, lazy afternoon lounging in the sun, visiting the beautiful Kyoto Garden before finding a nearby bench to while away time reading and being content in each other's company. It has been such a long time since I spent a day doing that and it really gave me the kind of relaxation time I'd been missing for a while. But the day was far from over!

We next headed to the Southbank area, as it has long been our favourite riverside view in London and as we've eaten at Giraffe so many times while living in London, we chose that as our next destination! I love the Chicken Milanese there, and it was delicious this time around as well! It seemed like the perfect end to our wonderful weekend outing, but little did I know that my evening had so much in store for me, because as soon as I returned home, there was a huge surprise waiting!

Lights, candles and flowers were everywhere. Not the most comfortable combination for the hottest day of the year but I was so overwhelmed that it was a long time before I noticed. And as I'm sure you've all guessed by now, my partner in crime of seven and a half years finally proposed to me to the backdrop of a video comprising of our favourite movie clips, beautiful music and the flat we've lived in and adored for almost a year. I feel like the luckiest girl alive though that might be cliche to say, and I'm so happy!

I really wanted to share with you my very special few days, as it's something I've been looking forward to for a long time. A long time. 

I'm back, and my Giveaway has ended!

I've arrived back in England after a lovely week in Llangollen, and I cannot wait to catch you guys up on what I've been doing with my time, as I certainly haven't been blogging. I will try very hard to have a post up tomorrow explaining my antics, but I am doing other things too tomorrow, and it will mean grabbing some pictures off of my camera so the post might take time. I do also wish to catch up with some missed posts because I'm pretty annoyed I missed this week's topics!

However, I do have a little something for you all before I leave this rather short post. My giveaway for Vanessa Morton's 'Moonfall' has now ended and a winner has been picked. That winner was Cait from Notebook Sisters, so well done to her and do check out the blog that she runs with her sister. It's great! I think that is really all I have to say, I'm absolutely knackered but I do have some exciting things to show you guys and I'm in a really happy mood after a wonderful holiday.

Daily Shenanigans, 18/07/2014: Arriving in Llangollen!

Today turned out to be full of surprises!  First off, I got my post for Oh, The Books! sorted (I thought I had already sent it,  apparently not...) and it should be up at the beginning of October! I'm very excited about it. After that I finished packing and then rushed to Mat's house. We headed off for Wales at about 2 in the afternoon and didn't arrive till gone 8 because the traffic was quite frankly appalling. The weather however was glorious both on the way to and in Wales, we somehow missed the giant thunderstorms that have racked the country recently.  Upon arriving however was the biggest and best surprise of all. There is Wi-Fi! It's very slow and a bit temperamental but it means I'm not abandoning this blog completely over the next week! 

I'm excited to see what tomorrow brings but right now I'm tired and a bit iffy from the car journey!

Daily Shenanigans, 13/07/2014: Breaking the 'Book Buying Ban'!

Oops! I appear to, after three or four months of this ridiculous necessity to keep my shelves a bit clearer, have bought a couple of new books. Mat got them for me cheap at Tesco where he works and I'm very excited to read them. I bought Neil Gaiman's 'The Ocean At The End Of The Lane' and 'The Secrets Of Life And Death' by Rebecca Alexander. They both look like fantastic books and I can't wait to get into reading them at some point! Before I saw Mat this evening, I actually had work today. I ended up staying much longer than I was supposed to, so I was knackered when I got home. Mat had the car so he picked me up from the station and came round. I've been a little grumpy today so I won't make this post too long, as I want my bed.

Tomorrow is going to be so exciting because I'm off to watch Martin Freeman in Richard III with Mat, something that I never thought I'd get tickets for! We'll be in London for most of the day which I'm looking forward to.

Daily Shenanigans, 11/07/2014: Back on schedule.

Today has been pretty productive for me. I read Vanessa Morton's 'Moonfall'. I am waiting until tomorrow to post the review because it will be my first ever Blog Tour post but I'm so excited for you guys to see my thoughts on the book, I really enjoyed it! There'll also be an Author Q&A and a Giveaway so stay tuned! Other than that, I did a lot of chores around the house today and mostly started sorting out my upcoming blog posts and planned reads because it really needed to be done. I was so glad for my day off today, it let me catch up a bit. I'm back onto reading 'The Silent History', it's good to be back on schedule.

Tomorrow I'm working again but obviously my previously mentioned Blog Tour post will be up, and I have some other bits and bobs to be getting on with.

Daily Shenanigans, 10/07/2014: Holiday approaching!

My morning started off pretty well, even tough I had to get up early. I had work but it was a pretty short shift today and it went so quickly. Before work though, I finished 'Lord Of The Flies' and wrote my Life Of A Blogger post! I didn't have time to do the review until much later on in the day though. After work I came home, quickly got changed, then went straight back out to Mat's! We went with his family to get all the necessary food and supplies for our trip to Wales next week, which I'm so looking forward to! Last time I went to Wales, I visited a friend of mine in Cardiff and had a great time! Llangollen promises to be a little quieter but still looks so interesting and beautiful. Thank goodness for the new camera, just in time for a great holiday. After shopping, we went back to Mat's and had dinner and then I was a tad boring and fell asleep. I don't know what came over me, I just suddenly felt ridiculously tired. It was for those reasons that I ended up posting my review of 'Lord Of The Flies' much later!

Tomorrow, I have the day off. I will be doing a lot of reading, plenty of blog bits and generally catching up with myself a bit.

Daily Shenanigans, 05/07/2014: Rain, rain, go away!

I had a really good day today! I did wake up with a bit of a sniffle, and I wasn't sure if I was ill or had hay-fever, and though this has lasted throughout the day, it hasn't bothered me all that much. I spent the morning doing as much of my 'Six Degrees Of Separation' post as I could and I really enjoyed this challenge, as I do every month! I had to go into work this afternoon and I wasn't quite so tired today which was good. Work itself was pretty nice, everyone seemed to be in a very good mood today! After work I came home, had dinner, finished and posted my post and then headed to meet Mat from work. I stayed at his house for a couple of hours and it was a really nice end to the day.

I am so excited for tomorrow because I'm going to Hyde Park for 'Barclaycard: BST' and it's going to be so much fun! Plenty of pictures will be taken so I'll include some in my post tomorrow! It rained today so I really hope it doesn't tomorrow. I probably won't find time to do much reading though. 

Daily Shenanigans, 29/06/2014: Officially going to 'Barclaycard presents British Summer Time'!

So now I've sorted everything out with work shift wise, I can announce that I'm extremely excited because I'm going to 'Barclaycard presents: BST' in Hyde Park, Sunday 6th July! I'm literally jumping up and down at this news, I wanted to go so much but I didn't think I would be able to because the tickets were so expensive! But a few days ago, a link got leaked to get them for very cheap prices, Mat snatched some up before they went and then it was announced that the tickets would still be honoured despite the leak! Mat and I will be going with our friend George and my sister Bev to see McBusted (again), Backstreet Boys, The Vamps, Scouting For Girls and Diversity! I can't wait!

As for the rest of my day, obviously I had work (we were completely rushed off our feet) and that took up most of my day. I did manage to post my 'Paper Towns' review before I left though, as promised. When I got home from work, I posted my Weekly Wishlist, and then proceeded to make a start on Stant Litore's 'No Lasting Burial'. What happened to 'Divergent'? I really wanted to finish this Netgalley read before the month was out, it's important that I keep on top of those. And I really fancied reading it to see what it was all about! I've made a good start on some other posts too so I feel pretty organised at the moment.

Tomorrow I'm seeing Mat for most of the day and we'll probably be not doing an awful lot other than chilling out. I will be doing as much reading and blogging as possible though! 

Weekly Wishlist #18

Well guys, as you probably know if you've been following, I am moving to London with my lovely boyfriend and a couple of his Uni friends. We've found a lovely flat that we like, we've signed some paperwork and I'm really excited! Of course nothing is concrete yet, but I thought I'd take the opportunity to write a list of things I'm looking forward to having/wishing for in the new flat. I was a little upset and grumpy yesterday but I'm feeling much more positive and happy today and I wanted to share that with you guys!

1) Bookshelves. Now of course this is such an obvious one, I have a huge collection of books and it needs to go somewhere! There isn't a huge amount of room in the flat for tons of shelf space, but I'm just really looking forward to being able to choose ones I like, what books go in them, how they are ordered, everything! As we'll be renting it will have to be a unit rather than shelves fixed onto the wall, and the ceilings arch off so I won't be able to have an overly tall one. But I'm just excited to organise everything!

2) DVD/Blu-Ray Stacks & TV Stand. Yesterday, Mat rang me up and told me that he was buying a heavily discounted TV (like, over half the price it should be) and PS4. Naturally I was a little taken aback at an impulse buy when we should be saving, but it was a good deal and I did really want them. Looking around furniture stores, I've realised that I might have an inner love for interior design that I had not previously realised I possessed. I really love books, and I'm also hugely obsessed with watching films so I would be needing lots of storage space for DVDs. I love this idea, I think it would be awesome! Then all of the TV related bits and bobs could go together! It's probably a bit out of my price range, and a little too tall but a nice idea!

3) A Desk. As Mat is still at Uni and I want to be writing/blogging in my spare time, a desk is basically a necessity in our room. I would love to get a really nice one that can store everything that is needed without taking up too much space. While browsing, I saw this one and thought it was gorgeous! You might have picked up that I'm a pretty minimalistic person, I don't like lots of decoration or embellishment on things. Simplicity makes me happy. And I am a huge fan of space saving too, so the idea of a corner work-station really appealed to me!


4) Dinner Sets. I have such a strange fixation on matching crockery and am looking forward to being able to get hold of my own! I really liked the look of this one (green is my favourite colour, so naturally this set was going to leap out at me). Plates, dishes, bowls, cups, as long as they match and look nice then I'm happy! 

5) Ornaments. Okay yes, I won't have much space in the house, and ornaments won't be the priority. But I'm looking forward to putting a little stamp on the flat, seeing as it will be my first home away from home! Again, I really like minimalist, particularly as this is by no means a permanent move. But I'm looking forward to making it look pretty!




Okay so actually this Wishlist was a little unexpected. I think the fact that I'm moving out is really hitting me and I keep getting these little bursts of excitement that make me realise how excited I am for a place to call my own (well mine shared with others, but I'm really looking forward to it). These may seem like really random things to be excited about but this is just a few things of many!

Daily Shenanigans, 21/06/2014: Time to get motivated!

Right guys, well it finally hit me today that I'm moving ever closer to moving out of my house and into the real world. I'm excited, but also a little scared, particularly as I'm not entirely sure what I want to do with my life. As a result I've been a bit moody today, going from being ultra-happy to incredibly grumpy and stressed! As a person, I don't handle change very well at all and become extremely worried if I feel like I might have overlooked things. I had to get up early this morning for work, and I was there until about mid-afternoon, so a good majority of my day was there! I've spoken to my manager and we're going to look into trying to transfer me to a store in London somewhere in preparation. After work, I drove home and spent my afternoon/evening browsing over the application form the Letting Agent has sent through, which I'll be doing tomorrow. I've also been trying to read the rest of my book, but I've been feeling so strange and restless today that I haven't really been able to concentrate enough to make a decent amount of progress.

Tomorrow my Weekly Wishlist will be posted. I also hope to finally finish this book once and for all and start on the next one, as well as complete this form and generally motivate myself to sort some things out (in order to feel productive). 

Daily Shenanigans, 19/06/2014: New house?

Well guys. As of late I've been rather busy doing a lot of things. Working, making trips here, there and everywhere,  etc. and a good majority of this relates to the fact I have been searching for a place to live with Mat and a couple of his Uni friends. Today I went to a flat viewing,  and I expected it to be nice as the pictures on the website were gorgeous. What I was not expecting to do was to like and want it so much that we ended up paying a holding fee to have it taken off the market, and to be well on our way to securing the place by this evening. Seriously,  I'm so thrilled and excited but it has certainly been a stressful and nerve wracking day! Fingers crossed this all works out!

Other than that, I haven't done an awful lot. I've been watching the football this evening (we lost...again) and spent time with Mat but that's about it. I ended up writing my Life Of A Blogger post quite late this evening but the topic was fun! Tomorrow I have work, then I'll be off to watch the Uni Musical,  which I'm very excited about. 

Daily Shenanigans, 18/06/2014: Borrowing books!

So I have returned from spending time with my lovely friend, Rosie. Seriously guys, I've had such a nice time and it was so great to get the chance to just spend time with someone I haven't seen for a while. We played a few more Horror games (we are both huge fans of the genre) and she gave me the birthday present that she never got to give me before. I actually almost had a cry when I saw it. It was a picture of Tom Hiddleston as Loki, signed. She had bought it for me because she knew he was my favourite actor and it looks really great. I think it might have to take pride of place somewhere in my room! As well as revealing that, I also had a really big nose around her book stack (she's an avid reader like me) and she let me borrow a few despite my insistence that I had so many to read already. The books look so good however and in the end I couldn't bring myself to say no! Firstly, she's given me 'Burial Rites' by Hannah Kent. Oh my goodness how I've wanted to get my hands on that one! Secondly she let me borrow two Holly Black books, 'Red Glove' and 'White Cat'. I don't know when I'll get round to them, but I definitely will at some point.

Tomorrow, I'm off to look at a house in London with Mat! I'm really excited and a little nervous, but hopefully it's a nice one. The advert certainly makes it look lovely so I'm rather excited! Right now though I'm going to continue with a bit of 'One Hundred Years Of Solitude' before sleep.

Daily Shenanigans, 11/06/2015: More news!

Well guys I'm totally knackered so I will make this post very short. I spent this morning with my lovely boyfriend, who last minute decided to come round and keep me company. We watched another episode of Game Of Thrones and then he took me to the station which was very sweet of him. I then spent the afternoon, and a bit of the evening, at work as I said yesterday. I'm tired now, but it wasn't too bad! The weather was lovely! I did manage to get a minute amount of reading done but not an awful lot and I fear that today has been a bit unproductive. I have had a couple of interesting things happen though! Firstly, the lovely Jennifer from Donnie Darko Girl informed me that I'd won her giveaway for an E-copy of Sarah Dalton's 'Mary Hades' which I'm so happy about. I've been an avid follower of Dalton's Facebook page for quite a while, but haven't yet had time to read any of her work. Now I can! Thank you Jennifer, your news truly made my day! My next exciting piece of news is that I've received another Author request! This is nothing new for more experienced bloggers, but for me it's extremely exciting! The book in question is H.L.Burke's 'Dragon's Curse' and it's received some pretty good reviews so I would definitely love to give it a go!

Tomorrow I am seeing Mat again in the morning and have an Optician's appointment but after, I'm free to catch up on all of these jobs that need doing. Procrastination is a terrible habit that I should not be allowing myself to fall into!

Daily Shenanigans, 09/06/2014: Guest post!

So, I've ended up being a very busy bee today actually! I'll start off by saying that the weather was tremendously hot, though it has rained quite a lot and we've even had a Thunder Storm this evening. Hopefully the air will be a little less humid now! I started the morning off playing a little bit of The Sims 3 and reading a rather hefty portion of 'Stolen Songbird'. I am enjoying this book so much and I can't wait to finish and review it for you guys! Mat came over about mid-morning and has spent quite a lot of it fussing over me on account of my hurting foot after yesterday's little trip down the stairs (...that was a terrible pun, my apologies). I also finally got round to posting a separate page for reviews, so they can be found more easily. I am glad I have the time to be improving upon my blog in the way that I want to at last! Mat and I did pop into town today to do a few bits and bobs, but other than that it has been very much a day of relaxation. While in town, I did buy Season 2 of 'Game Of Thrones' on Blu-Ray and we watched a couple of episodes today. I am thoroughly addicted to that series.

After Mat left, I began to work on a post that I've been keeping secret up until now. The lovely ladies over on Oh, The Books! have recently put out a call for all newbie bloggers (if your blog has started in the last six months) to write a guest post for them to put on their own blog (click here if you're interested). It's a wonderful idea and though it took me a while to pluck up the courage to say I would do it, I'm glad I have volunteered. I've started on the post today. It isn't quite finished, and I haven't been given a set date for when it will go up but I shall keep you all updated as I know more! I'm extremely excited! 

Tomorrow I will try and finish it, and then send it onto them. I shall also be posting my 'Top Ten Tuesday' list and hopefully reviewing my current read too. Busy, busy!

Daily Shenanigans, 07/06/2014: A light at the end of the tunnel!

Finally, after days and days of struggling, it seems I might be making headway with this book. I'm about three quarters of the way through now, and have decided to read as much as possible before sleeping tonight so that I can have a review up for you tomorrow morning. Obviously this is already much later than expected so I am determined! Then I shall be getting straight onto 'Stolen Songbird', which I'm really looking forward to! Reading has taken up most of my day so there isn't much to tell. I arrived back in Ashford from London mid-morning, then headed to Mat's not long after. He really wanted to clear away his Uni stuff and then I sat and half-watched him play on his Xbox while working my way through my monstrous novel. I did also write my 'Six Degrees Of Separation' post which was a lot of fun! We had a lovely Chinese takeaway in the evening, then snuggled up to watch the Britain's Got Talent final. A perfect end to a lovely few days away!

Tomorrow I have nothing planned other than a hefty amount of reading, blog organising and posting, completing a few tasks for some exciting projects coming up (more on those when I have official dates) and hopefully playing The Sims 3 (the withdrawal symptoms are almost crippling now). I'm extremely excited about some upcoming events to say the least but I'll keep quiet...for now!

Daily Shenanigans, 31/05/2014: I did it!

I can't quite believe I managed it, especially as I worked today, but I managed to start and finish 'Shadow & Bone' in one day! I'm a very happy girl right now because the book was so good and I really want to read the next one! My day has basically entirely consisted of reading and work, and not a lot else. Once I had finished 'Shadow & Bone', I did have to quickly do my monthly wrap-up post too! While doing that I realised I haven't read a single physical book this month, I've read from the Kindle instead! This isn't exactly surprising as I did want to get through a lot of my Netgalley reads but I'm still a little sad and really would like to hold a book in my hands again so I'll be reading 'The Luminaries' by Eleanor Catton next. I'm borrowing it from my very generous sister and I'm extremely excited! I can't wait to review that one for you guys. After that, I'll be reading 'Stolen Songbird' by Danielle Jensen, yet another book that everyone seems to have read except me! I figure I really need to catch up with the Blogoverse!

Tomorrow is my day off so I'll spend the day reading, blogging (my 'Planned Reads for June' post and my 'Weekly Wishlist' will both make an apearance tomorrow) and generally relaxing. Then in the evening I'll be seeing Mat and we plan to go and watch Maleficent at the cinema! How exciting!

Daily Shenanigans, 24/05/2014: Lots of reading, check!

I'm very nearly finished with 'The Three' guys! It was so nice to wake up this morning and realise I literally have nothing that needs doing and I can spend the day doing what I actually want to! I organised my Blog a little, put in a lot of requests for Netgalley and Edelweiss reads and then continued on with my reading. The book itself is starting to get pretty interesting, I'm looking forward to finishing and reviewing. My 'Weekly Wishlist' will come a little later tomorrow. Why? I'm going to the London Expo tomorrow with a friend! I'm extremely excited, I've never been before and it looks such fun! I'll probably have a lot of merchandise and awesomeness to show you guys in my daily post tomorrow and I hope to have a lot of fun while I'm there, I've been looking forward to it for weeks! Other than reading and blog stuff, I didn't do a whole lot other than have a nice curry, watch TV, play games with Bev and relax. I can't wait to see what tomorrow has in store! I'll try to finish 'The Three' before bed and schedule a review for tomorrow, but if not then you'll get that most likely on Monday because I am out early morning till late evening.

Daily Shenanigans, 23/05/2014: Uni is over!

It's official. Today marked my last Uni assignment and now it's over, so my final year of Uni is over. What does this mean? It means I can completely focus on this blog and catch up on all the reading I really need to do! I am so excited for Summer, for the future, and for being able to relax with a good book more! The performance itself went well I think. I have been in Uni since half 9 this morning, and didn't get out till half 7ish. Man I am tired, but I'm extremely happy. I suppose I also feel a little sad that my project that I've been working on for months is done and dusted with, but it'll be nice not to feel so much stress! Now is the time to go out and do more things, enjoy my new-found freedom and be more social! Hooray! So starting tonight, I'll be finishing 'The Three' and then moving straight onto Nicola Mar's 'A Red Tale'. After that, I'll be moving straight onto completing the rest of May's challenges (so reading 'Shadow & Bone' and 'Cinder').

Time to get on with the rest of my life!

Daily Shenanigans, 13/05/2014: My 21st Birthday!

Well this post is coming a little late, but that's because I've been quite busy today! It's my birthday! I'm home now and have had a lovely day with Mat and my family, and I'm blown away by some of the gifts I've received! I'll do a quick haul because some of you might be interested and there are a few books scattered in there which I'm desperate to fan-girl about! I must apologise for very poor picture quality!

These are the presents I received from Mat and I'm so taken aback! I'll mention these first because I have already spoken about most of them but I was so happy with them! I mentioned that he got me a cute Eevee toy and Totoro toy yesterday while shopping. I probably also mentioned the Chocolate egg which I got yesterday as an early present! Well the one I received today was so unexpected and I still can't believe he got me one but it's a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3! I knew he was planning something bigger for my 21st, but this? I did not see it coming! I'm so grateful for everything he got me, as well as the lovely four days in London he treated me to. I've been spoilt rotten!

Next up are some of the presents I received from extended family. My Nan and Grandad bought me a gorgeous necklace which I adore. they let me look at it when I visited them a couple of weeks ago to make sure I liked it, which of course I did! It's beautiful! They also got me one of the two big keys, all wrapped up in pink as a bit of a joke. The second key is personalised and from one of my Aunts! speaking of Aunts, I have two more. One of them bought be a lovely bracelet and key-ring, while I received lip make-up from the other. I loved all of these presents!

This is actually a really terrible photo but pictured are the lovely and exciting presents that my Mum and Dad got me! A book on the Stage Show 'Les Misérables' (which I watched and adored). The 'Sherlock' series 3 DVD (which I am so happy about, it was on one of my Wish Lists). Tickets to see 'Let The Right One In' in the West End which I knew I was getting but I'm so looking forward to the show. The Swedish film is great! And last but certainly not least, the entire Harry Potter book collection! This present was entirely unexpected too and I actually almost cried! These covers are my favourite too so I was really happy!

Now for some reason this picture came out really well but there's a lot to cover here so I'll list them all anyway! These are the presents from my Sister, Bev who also has a blog at Tutus And Ballet Shoes and I love them all. She got me the 'Frozen' DVD which made me actually squeal when I saw it! She bought a couple of Owl-themed notebooks because I need some for general blog planning etc. There was also a lot of chocolate because it's probably my biggest addiction! And one of my favourite presents from her was a beautiful Snitch pocket-watch that actually opens and has pretty wings and tells the time and it's gorgeous (I love my Harry Potter themed bits and bobs).Now for the books which I'm sure you're all dying to hear about! First, 'Scarlet' by Marissa Meyer. The second in the Lunar Chronicles, I now have extra incentive to read them! The first three books of the 'Peter Grant' series, 'Rivers Of London', 'Moon Over Soho' and 'Whispers Underground'. Man I want to read these books so bad but simply thought I'd never get round to owning them! And last but not least, the entire 'Game Of Thrones' series! Wow I want to read these so badly but I must resist and get through my other reads first. 

And that about sums up my collection of Birthday bits! This is probably the longest Daily Shenanigans post I have ever written but it has been quite a day. I spent the evening with Mat and my Family, watching 'Harry Potter and the Order Of The Phoenix' which happened to be on. I've really had such a nice day, though it's back to reality with work tomorrow!

Daily Shenanigans, 12/05/2014: The 'X-Men: Days Of Future Past' premiere!

It's the day before my birthday and it has been such a good one! We got up this morning and quickly got ready for the Premiere which was due to start in the evening, but we knew it would be better to get there earlier. When we arrived (about half 12ish) there were already so many people there, most of them dressed up in some rather impressive looking costumes! They were being judged for a competition and seeing as there were no barriers in place at this point, we decided to go and get something to eat, then do a spot of shopping. I had some lovely pasta and we went to a cute shop in the London Trocadero, 'TokyoToys', where Mat bought me an Eevee and a Totoro as early birthday presents! Speaking of early birthday presents, he also presented me with a Thorntons Chocolate Egg this morning which made me very happy.

One thing we didn't know about the premiere however was that in order to get a good spot, you had to be there when they were handing out wristbands at whatever time that was. Without wristbands, we were given a space where the stage and screens could be seen well, but no chance of any stars being able to come over and sign or talk. Nevertheless, we still had a lot of fun! The stars in attendance, for those interested, were Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy. It was really interesting listening to them talk to Johnathan Ross about upcoming projects and the film itself, and there was even a special appearance from Dynamo! I'm really glad I got to go and if I decide to go to another premiere in the future, I'll be sure to get a wristband next time!

I watched another couple of episodes of 'Game Of Thrones' this evening. It's getting pretty intense now and I'm just getting this awful feeling that my favourite characters will die while the ones I don't like will live on to cause more trouble. I shall have to wait and see! It's been such a good day and I look forward to seeing what my birthday has in store for me tomorrow!
