Daily Shenanigans, 07/07/2014: I ache so much!

I've spent a fair bit of today having a well earned rest. After yesterday's antics, I woke up totally exhausted, with next to no voice and my muscles absolutely killing me. It was such a good day out but I'm really glad I got to relax today. So what did I do? Well a bit of London job hunting to start with, followed by playing The Sims 3 for a couple of hours and reading too. I didn't finish the book but I'm a lot closer now. I also posted a fun little challenge, just because I'd been planning to for a while. The questions were a lot of fun to answer!

Tomorrow I will post my next Top Ten Tuesday post, and continue with some reading before work. Yes that's right, back to reality! 

Daily Shenanigans, 17/06/2014: A long awaited reunion.

Well I won't make this too long! My morning was spent writing my 'Top Ten Tuesday' post. I found today's topic really hard actually, I'm looking forward to reading a lot of books this Summer! I persevered and managed it however,  then immediately got dressed and ready to see my friend Rosie. I haven't seen her for a really long time, we have both been so busy at Uni until now! It was really nice to finally find time to meet up again! We mostly played Horror games (which we both love) and watched films! In fact we just finished watching 'Mama' which has me scared witless, so I probably won't sleep tonight. Not my wisest move...

Tomorrow I'm back home and busy being productive because I really need to be. 

Daily Shenanigans, 16/06/2014: 'The Fault In Our Stars' Advanced Screening.

So I've had a pretty exciting and productive day today, certainly in terms of reading! To begin with, I was staying at Mat's last night and I've spent the day at his. We mostly relaxed, playing games and watching Game Of Thrones. As well as that I managed to finish that very book! I enjoyed it so much, and the review went up today as promised. I thoroughly recommend the book, it's a brilliant start to the epic saga!

But now for the main crux of my post. This evening, Mat and I made use of our Unlimited cards and watched the advanced screening of 'The Fault In Our Stars' (it actually comes out Thursday here in Britain). I will start by saying that I majorly cried and it was not a pretty sight at all! The whole cinema was in floods of tears and anyone who has read the book will know why. It was definitely worth the sobbing though, the film was fantastic! Hazel and Augustus had a wonderful onscreen chemistry that far exceeded my expectations and I enjoyed every minute of the film. They stuck pretty closely to the book as well which I was pleased about. I really appreciated seeing some of my favourite quotes in there, but I actually found a new appreciation for some parts of the film that I didn't take much notice of in the book.

The casting was fantastic. Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort were wonderful as the two leads,  as I have said. In addition, Nat Wolff played Isaac perfectly! I had such a soft spot for Isaac in the book that it was important to me that the film got him right, which they did. I was also very impressed with Willem Dafoe as the eccentric and bitter Peter van Houten. I am so glad that I enjoyed this film,  which was very funny at times, but heart breaking and emotional throughout.

Tomorrow I'm off to stay round a friend's house who I haven't seen for a very long time! I'll also be posting my Top Ten Tuesday post!

Daily Shenanigans, 15/06/2014: Father's Day!

Here in Britain, today is Father's Day! I bought my Dad a new phone case, as his old one wasn't as practical as he would have liked. We also had a curry as a treat to celebrate! We don't really tend to make too much of a fuss on days like this but it was still nice to spend time together as a family. This afternoon, Mat came to pick me up and I've been there since, as I'm staying over. I have done a lot of reading today and I'm almost done with 'A Game Of Thrones' which is good. I'll definitely be done and reviewing tomorrow!

Other than that, I've been mostly relaxing. I've posted another Weekly Wishlist, a weekly post that I really enjoy! Tomorrow I plan to continue with lots of reading and generally relaxing before going to watch 'The Fault In Our Stars' at the cinema (hooray for Unlimited Cards!) in the evening. I just know I'm going to be a wreck in tomorrow's post!

Daily Shenanigans, 07/06/2014: A light at the end of the tunnel!

Finally, after days and days of struggling, it seems I might be making headway with this book. I'm about three quarters of the way through now, and have decided to read as much as possible before sleeping tonight so that I can have a review up for you tomorrow morning. Obviously this is already much later than expected so I am determined! Then I shall be getting straight onto 'Stolen Songbird', which I'm really looking forward to! Reading has taken up most of my day so there isn't much to tell. I arrived back in Ashford from London mid-morning, then headed to Mat's not long after. He really wanted to clear away his Uni stuff and then I sat and half-watched him play on his Xbox while working my way through my monstrous novel. I did also write my 'Six Degrees Of Separation' post which was a lot of fun! We had a lovely Chinese takeaway in the evening, then snuggled up to watch the Britain's Got Talent final. A perfect end to a lovely few days away!

Tomorrow I have nothing planned other than a hefty amount of reading, blog organising and posting, completing a few tasks for some exciting projects coming up (more on those when I have official dates) and hopefully playing The Sims 3 (the withdrawal symptoms are almost crippling now). I'm extremely excited about some upcoming events to say the least but I'll keep quiet...for now!

Daily Shenanigans, 06/06/2014: Last full day in London!

Today for the most part has been a relaxing day. This morning, after finally getting up, Mat and I watched the last episode of 'Game Of Thrones' Season 1. I have to say it has made me really desperate to read the book. And I hear that the series only continues to get better and more addictive. I would really love to see what the series has missed out or altered. Luckily I only have my current read and the one after standing in my way. Speaking of reading, I still can't shake this annoyed feeling that I am really behind. I got a good way through today but I really would like this book to be finished now, it's so long! I'm only halfway through! Still, I'm enjoying it.

Other than relaxing, Mat had a lot of packing to do in preparation for moving all of his stuff out. Most of it went today (his family came to pick a majority of it up) but the rest will be out tomorrow and we will be going back home. I'll be round his for the day but I still plan to do plenty of reading!

Daily Shenanigans, 05/06/2014: 'Let The Right One In' on stage!

Let me just start by saying I've had a really nice day today. I did manage to get a small bit of reading done, and generally relaxed in the morning. It was nice to be able to do so again and it really hit me that Uni is actually over for good. Gulp! We went to view the house in the afternoon, only to find that no Estate Agent turned up! Apparently they had rung and left a message to cancel the viewing, though Mat didn't have a missed call so I'm not so sure. Still! The trip wasn't entirely wasted! we went to the nearby Sainsburys and bought a few bits and bobs, including some Ben & Jerries! Yum!

After going out for a lovely Italian, we made our way to the Theatre to watch 'Let The Right One In'. My parents bought me the tickets for my birthday and I've been really looking forward to watching it, the Swedish Film Adaption has always been one of my favourite films. I wasn't sure what to expect. I wondered how on earth they were going to stage half of the scenes, but having seen 'The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime' at the Apollo, I have every faith that it would be an awesome show. I was not in the least bit disappointed and found myself blown away on so many levels! I'll start by saying that the seats we had gave us an amazing view, and the set looked just beautiful. I've included a picture, and I was shocked about just how realistic everything was! They even had a sky scene on the roof that you could see if you looked up.

So, the acting. Rebecca Benson as Eli was just fantastic. She gave the character a beautiful mix of vulnerability and ferocity, and she really did seem so otherworldly. Martin Quinn was also amazing, especially considering that it was his professional stage debut! When I read that in the programme, I was blown away! The two of them together were just lovely to watch and I really liked watching the relationship build, just as I did in the film. I also liked that the show as a whole really heavily drew from the film, but managed to be it's own thing as well. It had a perfectly creepy atmosphere, amazing soundtrack (so beautiful at times) and I almost cried at a few points during the show. The way that they achieved some of the effects as well were just amazing. If you enjoyed the film I really recommend this show. See it while you still can!

Tomorrow, Mat and I are in all day. He needs to pack up most of his things to move from Uni and has told me I can spend the day reading if I like. I'll probably help him a bit, but I hope to make lots of progress!

Daily Shenanigans, 03/06/2014: Advanced screening?

Well readers, I have some pretty exciting news to share! You may, or may not, be aware that Mat and I both have Cineworld Unlimited Cards. This means that we get invited to see certain films a little bit early, and this month's film is 'The Fault In Our Stars'. I am extremely excited, I literally almost jumped through the ceiling when I first found out and Mat booked tickets immediately. The screening is on Monday 16th June so as soon as I've watched it, I'll let you all know my thoughts! Other than that, my day has mainly been headache filled. I have been feeling really tired and not well so I've been doing very little other than driving my Mum to the Garage as promised. I read a bit (though not as much as I hoped. Migraines plus reading books don't make a good concoction). I did also do some puzzles and watch my sister play The Sims 3. I really want to get playing that game a lot this Summer, I love it!  I also wrote my Top Ten Tuesday post which as always was so much fun! It made me really excited for my upcoming reads!

Tomorrow I'll be seeing Mat, reading, I have a Dentist Appointment and then I'm off to London! Again! We're hoping to go looking at a couple of houses, but I'm really looking forward to our Theatre trip on Thursday! 

Daily Shenanigans, 24/05/2014: Lots of reading, check!

I'm very nearly finished with 'The Three' guys! It was so nice to wake up this morning and realise I literally have nothing that needs doing and I can spend the day doing what I actually want to! I organised my Blog a little, put in a lot of requests for Netgalley and Edelweiss reads and then continued on with my reading. The book itself is starting to get pretty interesting, I'm looking forward to finishing and reviewing. My 'Weekly Wishlist' will come a little later tomorrow. Why? I'm going to the London Expo tomorrow with a friend! I'm extremely excited, I've never been before and it looks such fun! I'll probably have a lot of merchandise and awesomeness to show you guys in my daily post tomorrow and I hope to have a lot of fun while I'm there, I've been looking forward to it for weeks! Other than reading and blog stuff, I didn't do a whole lot other than have a nice curry, watch TV, play games with Bev and relax. I can't wait to see what tomorrow has in store! I'll try to finish 'The Three' before bed and schedule a review for tomorrow, but if not then you'll get that most likely on Monday because I am out early morning till late evening.

Daily Shenanigans, 18/05/2014: The entire 'Frozen' soundtrack is stuck in my head.

I feel like my day has been really productive. To start with, I tidied my room! It has really become very messy over the last few weeks and I've been putting the job off for a very long time (procrastination is something I'm very good at). But I decided that enough was enough and I've cleared away so many things, including the piles of books that were scattered around everywhere!  I managed to post my 'Weekly Wishlist' eventually too and I'm pretty happy with this particular selection! After doing all of those jobs, I watched 'Frozen' with my family. I had forgotten how much I loved about that film and was so glad I found time to get round to it and relax a bit!

Other than that, I'm currently about to finish Terri Bruce's 'Thereafter' and the review for that will be up tomorrow! I bought a couple of things for myself. The first was an item that appeared on one of my Wishlists and I really wanted to get hold of, 'The Cabinet Of Curiosities' by Guillermo Del Toro. As it's non-fiction, I don't think it counts in my book buying ban. The other was a free Kindle read, 'Beckoning Light' by Alyssa Rose Ivy. I really love checking back on all the books I have on my Kindle Wishlist and realising one has dropped in price.

Tomorrow I have work, but other than that I plan to be just as productive as today, in terms of reading, blogging and Uni work.

Daily Shenanigans, 15/05/2014: 'Godzilla'.

I've had quite a busy day today but I'll try to keep this fairly brief as I'm knackered! I started off the day writing my 'Life Of A Blogger' post and drafting the answers to my 'Book Blogger Test' questions (I had to wait to get the picture, which is why the post ended up going up so late). Imogen, the friend that was coming over today, arrived not long after and I spent a lovely few hours with her talking about my Multimedia Project as well as catching up and playing games. It was a lot of fun and really good to see her again after such a long time! After Imogen had gone, Mat came over with the car and we made our way to the cinema to watch 'Godzilla' this evening!

I'll write a little something about the film. I wasn't expecting it to be all that good, but as far as remakes go, I was pretty taken aback by how much I actually enjoyed it. They made Godzilla look pretty cool, the use of Modern CGI effects for this one were well placed and I really like his new look. I also really liked the story-line as well. I watched the original film a very long time ago and don't remember much about it but I would be interested to see how the two compared. This felt very modern and pretty realistic, though I wasn't totally blown away and something about the end reaction felt a little off to me. I did enjoy the focus on other things, namely family, in this one. It turned the film into something more than just a disaster film. Also, Alexandre Desplat's score was gorgeous. Some really nice moments in there!

All in all, I've had a nice, relaxing day! Tomorrow I'm back to Uni to work on my Project a bit more (it's my final Uni assignment) and I'll get some more reading done. Whew!

Daily Shenanigans, 13/05/2014: My 21st Birthday!

Well this post is coming a little late, but that's because I've been quite busy today! It's my birthday! I'm home now and have had a lovely day with Mat and my family, and I'm blown away by some of the gifts I've received! I'll do a quick haul because some of you might be interested and there are a few books scattered in there which I'm desperate to fan-girl about! I must apologise for very poor picture quality!

These are the presents I received from Mat and I'm so taken aback! I'll mention these first because I have already spoken about most of them but I was so happy with them! I mentioned that he got me a cute Eevee toy and Totoro toy yesterday while shopping. I probably also mentioned the Chocolate egg which I got yesterday as an early present! Well the one I received today was so unexpected and I still can't believe he got me one but it's a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3! I knew he was planning something bigger for my 21st, but this? I did not see it coming! I'm so grateful for everything he got me, as well as the lovely four days in London he treated me to. I've been spoilt rotten!

Next up are some of the presents I received from extended family. My Nan and Grandad bought me a gorgeous necklace which I adore. they let me look at it when I visited them a couple of weeks ago to make sure I liked it, which of course I did! It's beautiful! They also got me one of the two big keys, all wrapped up in pink as a bit of a joke. The second key is personalised and from one of my Aunts! speaking of Aunts, I have two more. One of them bought be a lovely bracelet and key-ring, while I received lip make-up from the other. I loved all of these presents!

This is actually a really terrible photo but pictured are the lovely and exciting presents that my Mum and Dad got me! A book on the Stage Show 'Les Misérables' (which I watched and adored). The 'Sherlock' series 3 DVD (which I am so happy about, it was on one of my Wish Lists). Tickets to see 'Let The Right One In' in the West End which I knew I was getting but I'm so looking forward to the show. The Swedish film is great! And last but certainly not least, the entire Harry Potter book collection! This present was entirely unexpected too and I actually almost cried! These covers are my favourite too so I was really happy!

Now for some reason this picture came out really well but there's a lot to cover here so I'll list them all anyway! These are the presents from my Sister, Bev who also has a blog at Tutus And Ballet Shoes and I love them all. She got me the 'Frozen' DVD which made me actually squeal when I saw it! She bought a couple of Owl-themed notebooks because I need some for general blog planning etc. There was also a lot of chocolate because it's probably my biggest addiction! And one of my favourite presents from her was a beautiful Snitch pocket-watch that actually opens and has pretty wings and tells the time and it's gorgeous (I love my Harry Potter themed bits and bobs).Now for the books which I'm sure you're all dying to hear about! First, 'Scarlet' by Marissa Meyer. The second in the Lunar Chronicles, I now have extra incentive to read them! The first three books of the 'Peter Grant' series, 'Rivers Of London', 'Moon Over Soho' and 'Whispers Underground'. Man I want to read these books so bad but simply thought I'd never get round to owning them! And last but not least, the entire 'Game Of Thrones' series! Wow I want to read these so badly but I must resist and get through my other reads first. 

And that about sums up my collection of Birthday bits! This is probably the longest Daily Shenanigans post I have ever written but it has been quite a day. I spent the evening with Mat and my Family, watching 'Harry Potter and the Order Of The Phoenix' which happened to be on. I've really had such a nice day, though it's back to reality with work tomorrow!

Daily Shenanigans, 11/04/2014: Feeling impatient.

Well, from the review that I posted earlier, you've probably all realised this. I finished 'Demolition Queen - Champagne, Murder & Chaos'. I had pretty mixed views, but did enjoy it in the end. That means that next on the list is...'The Fault In Our Stars' by John Green! I'm very excited and very nervous because I just know that this is going to make me cry buckets and the prospect of that doesn't fill me with joy. But I simply need to read this highly reviewed and amazing book that everyone else seems to have read except me, so it's time to bite the bullet and face the tears! Fingers crossed I love it as much as my sister and everyone else does! After 'The Fault In Our Stars', I shall be resuming my previous schedule with Laura Whitcomb's 'A Certain Slant Of Light'. This time, no interruptions!

Apart from reading, I've not done a huge amount today. I did some housework and blog planning, but other than that, generally chilled out. I didn't see Mat today because he had some things to do this morning, and then work this afternoon. I will however be seeing him tomorrow, and we will more than likely go to the cinema to watch something (no idea what yet). I'm leaving the day a bit disappointed actually. My grade for the Tech support I provided during Show Week was meant to be posted this evening and it hasn't been! Apparently, there's a chance it won't be up till next week and I think I might explode before then! Hopefully that's not the case.

Daily Shenanigans, 06/04/2014: A day with the Sister!

Well the day did not bode well for me in the beginning. I woke up with a splitting headache and feeling a bit sick. But, after taking something for it, I soon felt better. The rest of the day involved me doing a lot of blog commenting, internet browsing, writing my 'Weekly Wishlist' and reading (I'm halfway through this amazing book and I really don't want to stop)! I have really enjoyed this lovely day off, because it felt like the first day off that I've had to myself in ages despite the fact that it's the holidays now!

I actually spent quite a bit of time with my sister today which was really nice. We played a lot of games on her iPhone (including a rather hilarious rendition of Charades), watched the end of 'Hairspray' on TV and just generally chilled together quite a lot chatting and having fun. This to me was quite important, I feel like recently we haven't spent a lot of time together because we have such different schedules now! She started and finished 'The Fault In Our Stars' today, and has told me that after my next read, I need to read it. Therefore it has gone up the list and put my neatly devised schedule out of order but my impatience to read this book and talk about it with her is just too great!

Tomorrow I'm back to Uni, and then at work so a long and slightly less relaxing day ahead for me! Still, it needs to be done, and then I'll spend the rest of the time doing some bits and bobs. No car for me, so I'll be taking the train. Extra reading time, hooray!

Daily Shenanigans, 05/04/2014: Happy Birthday Mum!

Yep! Today is my Mum's birthday! I got her a book (naturally) and a Kindle voucher because she so rarely has a chance to sit down and enjoy a good book, I wanted to give her the opportunity to do so! The day in itself has been pretty laid back actually. I got a bit more reading done, but not as much as I wanted to. Still: there's always tomorrow! As well as that, I watched 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' with my Dad (who hadn't seen it yet) and I had forgotten how good I thought this film was...and how much it made me cry! I really need to catch up with the rest of the world and read this series. The films are too good for the books not to be (I could just blabber on about how much I love Jennifer Lawrence for ages, but I'll spare you that). 

Mat came round again this evening, which was a lot of fun. We played Pokemon for the whole evening but it was nice to just chill out. I'm not going to see him for a few days, he's off with a friend of his on a mini holiday in a Caravan. It'll give me a chance (between work shifts and Uni visits) to get a lot done though! Oh also, a book that I've had my eye on: 'Phase' by Adam Hamdy was free on the Kindle when I looked today! Naturally, I bought it! So that was my exciting book treat of the day.

Today I managed to write a post that I didn't think I'd be able to, which I was pretty pleased about. It was a new monthly Meme, 'Six Degrees Of Separation', and it was a little tough, but a lot of fun! I highly recommend everyone join in next year, I loved seeing the direction that other people went with it and have now added even more books to my TBR list. This list is never going to end, there are just too many books to read in the world! I've been browsing some Book Reviewing websites as well, as I'm desperate to think about getting a bit more serious with this Blog, I enjoy writing for it so much! In particular, I was thinking about getting a NetGalley account and requesting books to review on there. I know quite a lot of bloggers that I follow have one, and get a lot out of it. But then part of me is a little scared that I'm not really a big enough blog to be joining a site like that yet and be seriously considered. It's something to think about anyway!

Tomorrow I have very little I need to do. A Weekly Wishlist post will be coming your way, and I'll be doing a lot of reading and (fingers crossed) finishing 'The Invention Of Wings'. Other than that, maybe a bit of coursework or watch a film? Who knows!

Daily Shenanigans, 04/04/2014: The Postman has impressed me!

So today has been one of the nicest I've had in quite a while. That feeling of not actually having anything to do that day is a rare one that I don't encounter often! I ended up having a rather nice lay-in this morning, and spent the rest of the day relaxing a lot. I replied to some comments on my blog, read a few posts, read some more of 'The Invention Of Wings' (I adore this book so far, by the way), and generally chilled out. Mat and I played quite a lot of games, and even watched a movie on TV, 'Beautiful Creatures'. I have to say I did enjoy the film, but I would love to read the book. I think I would enjoy that a whole lot more.

I returned home pretty late this evening, and found that I had two parcels waiting for me. The first was 'Good Kings, Bad Kings', which was one of my Giveaway wins that I knew would arrive soon. The second was a bit of a shock. I hadn't expected it to arrive so quickly, seeing as I only emailed my Mailing address out yesterday. It was the book that the lovely Betsy Cook Speerg had asked me to review, 'Demolition Queen: Champagne, Murder & Chaos'. In light of the fact that someone has specifically requested me to review it, I've bumped it up the TBR list accordingly, and I shall be reading it after I've finished my current read. I can't wait to get into it! It shouldn't affect my reading schedule too much, and I want to review it ASAP.

Tomorrow is my Mum's birthday, and I'm seeing Mat in the afternoon after he finishes work. It promises to be pretty relaxing again though, there is nothing planned as far as I am aware, but we'll see! Oh, I also found out today that as well as Benedict Cumberbatch playing Hamlet next year (I heard this last week), Martin Freeman will be playing Richard III fairly soon. These are both in the West End and I am desperate to go and see them, I love these actors! So there is some more exciting news from today!

Daily Shenanigans, 03/04/2014: 'A Long Way Down'

So I started off having a pretty relaxing day! I had a bit of a lie in, a nice bath, packed for Mat's and then spent the rest of the morning doing my quite short 'Life Of A Blogger' post on handwriting. Mat came to get me about midday and I've spent a lovely afternoon popping to Tesco and chilling at his house. The weather was lovely today so it was nice to be out of the house for a bit! While at Mat's, I also finished and reviewed 'Tithe', a book that I thoroughly enjoyed! I've made a good start on 'The Invention Of Wings' and a review of that should appear in the next few days.

This evening, Mat and I decided that we really wanted to go to the cinema! So we went to see 'A Long Way Down' which made me so happy because I've been desperate to watch it! All I can say about it is that it was a brilliant film. Heart wrenching, humorous at times, and entirely worth the wait. For those that don't know, it is based on a book by Nick Hornby, and tells the story of four people with very different lives, each wanting to commit suicide. After an accidental meet on the top of a rooftop, they make a pact to not kill themselves for six weeks and see where there story takes them. The film did a beautiful job of really giving an in depth look into the life of each character and we come to understand and sympathize with them all. Seriously, I sobbed through quite a lot of this movie! The acting was great and the soundtrack beautiful. Definitely one to watch for those that haven't seen it, I would love to see it again! 

It's rather late because we have only just returned from the cinema. The only showing we could get to see was the 09:40pm showing,  but it was so worth it! Tomorrow I will definitely be having a lazy day doing as little as possible. Enough said. 

Daily Shenanigans, 25/03/2014: Racing through my planned reads!

Well, what a lovely few days I've had in London! I woke up this morning still buzzing about last night's trip to see 'Les Misérables' and unable to get any of the songs out of my head. Mat had a couple of lectures to go to today so I was left mostly to my own devices, relaxing. My first port of call was to post my 'Top Ten Tuesday' for this week. I literally love this meme, it's so fun reading other people's lists and seeing how they compare. It makes me feel a lot more like I'm part of a big blogging community. I'm home now, I travelled back this evening after enjoying a delicious curry with Mat. He's off visiting a friend for a couple of days so I'll have to wait till Friday before seeing him again!

As well as this I managed to finish 'Chasing Sky'. I really liked this book, which you'll read in my review so please check that out if you're interested. I've started on 'The Telling Error' by Sophie Hannah, which was a Goodreads 'First Reads' giveaway win (I figured that I really need to get round to reading and reviewing these, seeing as I was lucky enough to win them). It is an unedited proof and not actually released until April 2014. I'm not very far in at all but I'm really loving it so far, the beginning draws you into the action instantly! I haven't read many books of this genre so I'll be intrigued to see how that effects my review of it when I'm done. As many of you have probably seen, next on the list will be 'Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale' which I'm ridiculously happy to be reading. I hope to get both of these books finished by the end of March so I can sneak it in as an extra challenge entry, but it doesn't matter too much if I don't!

Tomorrow is back to reality for me a little bit I'm afraid! I have work in the afternoon, so my reprieve from travelling to Canterbury hasn't been a long one! This doesn't matter though, it's a little shift and I still have the surrounding day to relax or get some things done if I want to!

Daily Shenanigans, 13/02/2014: Recovery after yesterday's trauma.

Today has been the opposite of yesterday, a.k.a, exactly what I needed. A quiet, relaxing day where I didn't need to be anywhere or do anything and could just sit down and work on things without too much disturbance and stress. And honestly, I actually got a lot done. I spent the morning writing some more script for my Multimedia piece, I've had a mental block for absolutely ages and suddenly I got a flash of inspiration! The relief that comes with that is indescribable. Once I had most of my ideas penned, I took a break and started to write out some blog-related planned posts and enter some Goodreads giveaways. Talking of those, my sister told me she had won a book this morning! 'The Madness Of July' by James Naughtie is on its way to her and having read the description, it looks like a good read! We have already agreed that entering these giveaways is sort of a joint effort in terms of reviews, as her blog is very book based too, so when it arrives and I get round to it, expect that one to pop up on the planned reads list!

The rest of my day was spent getting a bit more work done, sorting out some emails and making sure everything was prepared for Valentine's Day! I have been told that tomorrow's lecture has been cancelled, and so I have the whole day off! I did go for a drive this evening, following my Dad to the Garage because his car needs an MOT and he wanted transport back home. Phoebe the Fiat is still working fine, I had absolutely no problems tonight! Let's hope it was just a one off. I'll be driving to pick Mat up from the station tomorrow, so I'll see how that goes. On another quick, day-brightening note, I received a really lovely tweet from Strangeface Theatre after I ranted about being unable to see their show. They told me to look on their list of Tour Dates around Kent and see if I could make any. If so, they would see if they could swing me a free ticket! How nice is that? I'll be checking that out, and hopefully someone will come with me so that I don't have to go by myself. It looks like I maybe going to see the show after all though!

I don't have an awful lot more to say. Tomorrow is obviously Valentine's Day, and I'll be spending the afternoon/evening with Mat and going out for dinner (so won' be home to blog till late), but other than that, I don't have a lot planned for the day.
